Master Chief Dennis P. Guivara hails from Makati City, Philippines.  He entered active naval service in September 30, 1998, reporting to Recruit Training Command Great Lakes.  Upon completion of recruit training he attended Air Traffic Control “A” School at Naval Air Technical Training Center (NATTC) Pensacola Florida and graduated in May 1999. He also attended Carrier Air Traffic Control (CATCC) School and Advanced Radar Air Traffic (ARATC) School.
 
He is a graduate of De La Salle University - College of St. Benilde, Manila, Philippines with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration.  
 
Master Chief Guivara’s sea assignments include USS Constellation (CV-64), USS John C. Stennis (CVN-74), USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71), and TACRON-12. He also deployed onboard the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD-6) and the USS ESSEX (LHD-2).   
 
Master Chief Guivara’s shore assignments are NAS Fallon, NV, Naval Base Coronado, NALF San Clemente Island, and Naval Base Ventura County Point Mugu. 
 
In December 2021 he reported to TACRON-12 as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader.
 
Master Chief Guivara’s personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendations Medal (three gold stars), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three gold stars), Humanitarian Service Medal and numerous individual campaign and unit awards.
