Master Chief Petty Officer Auman is a native of Society Hill, South Carolina, a 1998 graduate of Darlington High School. Entering the Navy in April 1999, he attended Basic Training in Great Lakes, Illinois and graduated MN “A” school, Ingleside, Texas in September 1999.
 
Master Chief Auman’s sea tours include USS ARDENT (MCM 12) forward deployed to Manama Bahrain, USS ROBIN (MHC 54) home ported Ingleside Texas, rotational MHC CREW GALLANT home ported Ingleside Texas, rotational MCM CREW CONFLICT home ported San Diego, California all deploying to Manama, Bahrain. He has served as Command Master Chief onboard USS SENTRY (MCM 3) forward deployed to Manama Bahrain and Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron SEVEN THREE (HSM-73) deploying on the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) Western Pacific deployment.
 
Ashore Master Chief Petty Officer Auman’s tours include Mobile Mine Assembly Unit Eleven in Charleston, South Carolina, Afloat Training Group San Diego and Command Senior Chief Transient Personnel Unit Puget Sound Bangor, Washington. He is currently serving as Command Master Chief of Assault Craft Unit ONE (ACU-1) Coronado, California.
 
Master Chief Auman’s military education includes MN “C” School AN/SLQ-48 Pilot/technician, Instructor training, Combat Systems Senior Enlisted and is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 157 Brown) and Command Master Chief/Chief of The Boat Course (Class 129) in Newport, Rhode Island.
 
He holds an Associate’s in Business Administration from Coastline Community College and a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Resource Management, and a Masters of Business Administration from Upper Iowa University.
 
He has qualified as Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Air Warfare Specialist, Master Training Specialist, and Afloat Training Specialist.
 
His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (Five Awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (Eight Awards), The Navy and Marine Association Leadership Award, and numerous campaign and unit awards.
