Captain Angelinas is a native of Riverview, Michigan and graduated from Fordham University in 1995.  He served as a Nuclear Electrician’s Mate in USS NEWPORT NEWS (SSN 750) until receiving his commission from Officer Candidate School in December 1998. In 2005, Captain Angelinas graduated from The George Washington University with a Master’s in Business Administration.
 
Captain Angelinas’ sea duty assignments include command of USS McCAMPBELL (DDG 85) and USS JOHN S. McCAIN (DDG 56).  He has also served as Executive Officer in USS McCAMPBELL (DDG 85), as the Weapons Officer and Combat Systems Officer in USS LEYTE GULF (CG 55), and in the Combat Systems, Weapons, and Engineering Departments as a Division Officer in USS OSCAR AUSTIN (DDG 79).

Ashore, Captain Angelinas has served as a Branch Chief in the Program, Budget and Analysis Division (PBAD) on the Joint Staff (J-8), as the Deputy Director for Surface Officer Career Management Division (PERS-41) at Navy Personnel Command in Millington, Tennessee and as a Congressional Liaison for Navy Appropriations in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy, Financial Management and Comptroller (FM&C). Captain Angelinas has also completed a post department head tour as a Surface Warfare Assignments Officer at Navy Personnel Command in Millington, Tennessee.  His first shore tour was as an instructor at the AEGIS Training and Readiness Center in Dahlgren,VA.

His personal decorations include the Legion of Merit, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, and various service and unit awards.  During his command tour of USS McCAMPBELL, the ship was awarded the Battle Efficiency “E” Award and the Unit Tactics Award.  He is a recipient of the Surface Navy Association’s Arleigh Burke Award for Operational Excellence, the Vice Admiral Bulkeley Leadership Award, and was a 2018 Vice Admiral Stockdale Leadership Award finalist.
