A native of Chicago, Illinois, CAPT Antonio L. Hyde enlisted as a Yeoman in the Navy in 1993. He was selected for the Broaden Opportunity for Officer Selection and Training Program and earned his commission from Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps at University of San Diego in 1999 and holds a bachelor's degree in biology. He earned a master's degree in National Security and Strategic studies from the Naval War College, and a master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Illinois at Springfield.

CAPT Hyde's sea duty assignments include frigates, destroyers, and littoral combat ships in both the Atlantic and Pacific Fleets. During these tours, he deployed to the Arabian Gulf in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He served as Communications Officer aboard USS George Philip (FFG 12); Training Officer aboard USS Paul Hamilton (DDG 60); department head tour as Operations Officer aboard USS Klakring (FFG 42); department head tour as Operations Officer aboard USS Freedom (LCS 1); Executive Officer aboard USS Detroit (LCS 7); and Commanding Officer aboard USS Fort Worth (LCS 3).

Ashore, CAPT Hyde served as Deputy Branch Head, Global Force Management Branch at the Pentagon in Washington, DC. He was Chief Staff Officer, Littoral Combat Ship Squadron ONE in San Diego, California. He performed as a strategic planner in Joint Functional Component Command for Global Strike at United States Strategic Command in Omaha, Nebraska. He also served as the Training Readiness Officer and Operations Officer during the standup of Naval Service Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois. He arrived in Sasebo in Aug 2022 and assumed the duties of Deputy Commodore MCMRON 7.

CAPT Hyde's personal awards include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and various campaign medals and unit awards.
