Command Master Chief Toyna Grace is a native of Dallas, Texas. She attended Recruit Training Command (RTC) Orlando, Florida in 1994, Cryptologic Technician Administrative (CTA) "A" School in Pensacola, Florida, and Yeoman (YN) "C" School in Meridian, Mississippi.
 
At sea, she served aboard USS Oak Ridge (ARDM 1) as an undesignated deck seaman, SSO Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, as the assistant security manager aboard USS Port Royal (CG 73), and as the Leading Chief Petty Officer of commanding officer/executive officer’s administrative offices aboard USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76).
 
Ashore, she has served at Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Pascagoula, Mississippi, as Leading Petty Officer for N2 Division at Commander, Submarine Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet in Pearl Harbor, HI, as Special Security Representative at the Naval Strike Air Warfare Center, Fallon, Nevada, as Special Access Program Security Officer for the staff of Commander, Submarine Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet. She worked for three Flag Officers in J5, U.S. Pacific Command, Hawaii and Commander, Submarine Group 9, Bangor, Washington, and she was the N1 Leading Chief Petty Officer at Navy Information Operations Command San Antonio, Texas.
 
She was selected for the Command Senior Chief program in 2016 and is a graduate of the Navy's Senior Enlisted Academy (Purple Group, Class 167),The Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course class 17030 and Naval Post Graduate School, Navy Senior Leadership Seminar. Her previous assignments include USS FREEDOM (LCS 1), USS PAUL HAMILTON (DDG 60) and Commander, Surface Division ELEVEN as the ISIC CMC.
 
Her current assignment is Command Master Chief, USS TRIPOLI (LHA 7).
 
She holds a Masters of Arts Degree in Organizational Leadership from Chapman University and a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Organizational Leadership from Brandman University. Her personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (2 awards), Joint Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (6 awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards), as well as other personal, unit and campaign awards.
