Command Master Chief Jenkins is a native of St. Louis, MO. He entered active naval service in March 1999 and reported to Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois. Upon completion of recruit training he attended Gunner’s Mate “A” School followed by MK45 5”/54 Caliber Gunner’s Mate “C” School in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Master Chief Jenkins’ sea tours include MK45 5”/54 Caliber Gun Mount Maintenance Technician in USS SPRUANCE (DD 963), MK75 76mm Gun Mount Maintenance Technician and CG Division Leading Chief Petty Officer in USS ELROD (FFG 55), and Range Division Leading Chief Petty Officer at Naval Special Warfare Development Group in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Additionally at sea, he has completed assignments as a Command Senior Enlisted Leader for a Joint Special Operations Task Force in both Afghanistan and Africa, and has completed successful tours as Command Master Chief in USS CORONADO (LCS 4) and USS PAUL HAMILTON (DDG 60). 

Ashore, Master Chief Jenkins has served as a Water Survival Instructor at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois and Command Master Chief at Naval Beach Group ONE in Coronado, California.

In June 2021, he assumed duties as Command Master Chief in USS MAKIN ISLAND (LHD 8).

Master Chief Jenkins holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and is a graduate of the United States Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 169, Command Master Chief Course, Command Senior Enlisted Leader Executive Leadership Symposium, and National Defense University KEYSTONE Course Class 19-2.

Master Chief Jenkins’ personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (2 awards), Meritorious Service Medal (2 awards), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6 awards) and numerous campaign and unit awards.

He is a Master Training Specialist and is authorized to wear the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, Expeditionary Warfare Specialist, and Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist insignias.
