18 May 2022 CMDCS (SW/AW) Jackey Smith is a native of Lincoln, Nebraska. She enlisted in the Navy in April 2000 and completed Recruit Training in Great Lakes, Illinois. She then reported to USS Roosevelt (DDG 80) as an undesignated Seaman.

Smith’s source rate was an Mass Communication Specialist. Her career duty assignments include: NAS Jacksonville, USS Ashland (LSD 48), Commander Navy Region Mid-Atlantic, Navy Expeditionary Combat Command Det. Combat Camera, Defense Information School, Office of the Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy, Navy Public Affairs Support Element West, Navy Region Hawaii, and U.S. Pacific Fleet prior to transferring to USS William P. Lawrence (DDG 110) in October 2021.
