Commander Caindoy, a native of Seattle, Washington, graduated in 2010 from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and earned his commission through the University of Washington NROTC. He graduated from the Naval Postgraduate School in 2016 with a Master of Science in Network Operations and Technology.

At sea, he served as the Communications Officer onboard USS Donald Cook (DDG 75), Weapons and Combat Systems Officer onboard USS Shoup (DDG 86), and Operations Officer for Destroyer Squadron One. USS Donald Cook was the first of four Arleigh Burke Class Destroyers to homeport shift to Rota, Spain as part of the President’s Phased, Adaptive Approach for Missile Defense in Europe.

Ashore, he completed a tour at the Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center qualifying as an Anti-submarine/Anti-Surface Warfare Tactics Instructor, planning Surface Warfare Advanced Tactical Training (SWATT) for Carrier Strike Groups.

Commander Caindoy’s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corp Commendation Medal, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
