CDR Randy Schimpf is a native of Lima, Ohio. An Aviation Electrician's Mate and Naval Aircrewman in EP-3 and ES-3 aircraft, he earned his commission at the University of South Florida through the Seaman to Admiral-21 program. He holds a master's degree from the University of Oklahoma.
At sea, he served on USS Hue City (CG 66) as Administrative Officer, USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) as CICO and Assistant First Lieutenant, USS Nicholas (FFG 47) as Operations Officer, USS Gettysburg as Combat Systems Officer and Expeditionary Strike Group 2 as Assistant N7.
His staff assignments include Naval Central Forces Command as the BMD Planner in the Integrated Air and Missile Defense Cell, and Naval Surface Force Atlantic as N44 Lead Project Officer.
He has served on teams that have been recognized with numerous awards and is the recipient of the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (six awards), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
