CMDCS(SW/IW) Ramon Morin III

Senior Enlisted Leader, PCU Kingsville (LCS 36)

22 January 2024 Senior Chief Petty Officer (IW/SW) Ramon Morin III is a native of Floresville, Texas. He graduated from Karnes City High School and enlisted in the United States Navy in August 2000.

After completing Boot Camp in Great Lakes, Illinois and “A” School in Pensacola, Florida, he reported to Navy Information Operations Command (NIOC) in San Antonio, Texas in 2001.  He obtained his basic qualifications providing indication and warning to theater commanders in support of Western and Northern Hemisphere Operations.  He was frocked to 2nd Class Petty Officer in September 2003.  After transferring from NIOC San Antonio, he reported to Center for Information Dominance (CID), Corry Station in Pensacola, Florida for A/N SLQ-32(V) 3 Technician School where he achieved his first NEC certification.  He reported to USS Anzio (CG 68) in May 2005 where he qualified as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and he was frocked to 1st Class Petty Officer in March 2007.  In June 2009, he reported to Center for Information Dominance, Norfolk as an Electronic Warfare Instructor where he qualified as Master Training Specialist (MTS).  There he supervised six Fleet schools for all surface units assigned to CTF-80.  In August 2012 he reported to USS Gunston Hall (LSD 44) while on deployment, where he assumed duties as Weapons LPO.  He was frocked to Chief Petty Officer in September 2013 and crossed-deck to USS Normandy (CG 60) in October 2013.  He served as OT and CE Division LCPO and qualified as Anti-Air Warfare Coordinator in support of Air Defense Commander duties for Theodore Roosevelt Strike Group.  His collateral duties included SAPR POC, SAPR VA, OPSEC Officer, and Intelligence Officer.  He reported to IWTG San Diego is February 2017, and was frocked to Senior Chief Petty Officer in June 2017 where he served as N8 Mission Area Director LCPO / ATG LNO.
 
CMDCS Morin’s C-Schools include 1781 Advance Electronic Warfare Applications, 1321 Combat Systems Senior Enlisted, 1734 A/N SLQ-32A(V)3 Technician, 9502 Journeyman Instructor Training, and he is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Management at Grantham University.  CMDCS Morin also graduated from the Senior Enlisted Academy (SEA) in November 2019.  

Personal awards include Joint Service Achievement Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards), the Good Conduct Medal (six awards) as well as various unit and campaign awards.
