CMDCS Christopher F. Tornay

Command Senior Chief, USS Charleston (LCS 18)

01 November 2023 CMDCS Christopher F. Tornay is a native of San Francisco, California. He enlisted in the Navy on 12 August 2005 and attended Basic Training at Recruit Training Command in Great lakes, Illinois. Following the completion of Recruit Training Command he attended Basic Engineering Common Core in Great Lakes, Illinois.

His sea duty assignments include USS LASSEN (DDG 82), USS PINCKNEY (DDG 91), USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70), PCD/USS KANSAS CITY (LCS 22), USS JACKSON (LCS 6) BLUE CREW, USS MAKIN ISLAND (LHD 8) and USS CHARLESTON (LCS 18) BLUE CREW.

During his sea duty assignments Senior Chief Tornay completed 9 deployments. He completed 3 deployments to the 5th fleet AOR and 6 deployments to the 7th fleet AOR. His ashore assignments include Afloat Training Group in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

Senior Chief Tornay graduated from the United States Navy Senior Enlisted Academy in September 2022 and the Command master Chief/Chief of the Boat Leadership course in September 2023. He reported to USS CHARLESTON (LCS 18) Blue Crew in September 2023 and currently serves as the Senior Enlisted Leader.

His personal and unit awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), the Navy Achievement Medal (three awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
