Master Chief Muravez is a native of Hollywood, CA. He enlisted in the United States Navy as an Undesignated Airman under the Delayed Entry Program in 2000.
Master Chief Muravez’ first assignment was with Electronic Attack Squadron ONE FOUR ONE (VAQ 141), based out of Naval Air Station (NAS) Whidbey Island, WA. During his tour with the “Shadowhawks,” he deployed aboard the USS ENTERPRISE (CVN 65) in 2001 in support of Operations SOUTHERN WATCH and ENDURING FREEDOM. He deployed again aboard the USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN 71) in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.
He was then assigned in 2004 to Navy Munitions Command, CONUS West Division, Detachment El Centro, CA.
In 2007, he reported to Pre-Commissioning Unit Makin Island, in San Diego, CA where he became a plank owner of the USS MAKIN ISLAND (LHD 8). While assigned, he deployed in 2011 and 2012, in support of middle-eastern operations, Exercise COMMANDO SLING with the Singapore Air Force, and Exercise KILAT EAGLE with the Malaysian Army. During his tour onboard LHD 8 he was promoted to Chief Petty Officer in 2012.
Following that tour, he reported in 2013 to USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76) as the Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department (AIMD) Armament Division Leading Chief Petty Officer (LCPO). During his tour, he promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer in 2015, and took part in the Navy’s three-carrier hull-swap, where he was assigned to USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73) in 2015 and then to the USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN 71) in 2016.
In 2017, he was reassigned to USS BONHOMME RICHARD (LHD 6) as the Weapons Department LCPO. He deployed with LHD 6 in support of exercise TALISMAN SABRE with the Australian Navy and Army, and exercise SSANG YONG with the South Korean military. In 2018, LHD 6 executed a homeport shift to San Diego, CA. and participated in 2018 Join Exercise RIM OF THE PACIFIC.
In 2020, he reported to Transient Personnel Detachment, NAS Lemoore, CA, where he was promoted to Master Chief Petty Officer. He temporarily served as the acting Command Master Chief of NAS Lemoore and Strike Fighter Squadron ONE TWO FIVE, the “Rough Raiders.” He was selected for lateral conversion as a Command Master Chief in March 2022, and was permanently assigned to the Rough Raiders.
He was then selected for orders in 2023 and reported to the USS CHAFEE (DDG 90) where he currently serves as the CMC.
Master Chief Muravez’ personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (2), the Navy Achievement Medal (5), and he has received various unit and campaign awards.
