LCDR Joeseph Kessenich

EXECUTIVE OFFICER, AFLOAT TRAINING GROUP PACIFIC NORTHWEST (ATGPNW)

19 March 2024 Lieutenant Commander Kessenich is a native of Madison, WI.  He graduated from University of Illinois in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Technical Systems Management. He also holds a master’s degree in Natural Resources.

At sea, LCDR Kessenich served as Main Propulsion Division Officer on USS CHANCELLORSVILLE (CG 62) and Navigator on USS COWPENS  (CG 63). He also served as Chief Engineer onboard USS DEWEY (DDG 105) and USS CHOSIN (CG 65)

Ashore, LCDR Kessenich served as Assistant Professor of Naval Science at the University of Idaho/Washington State University NROTC Unit. 

His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, as well as various unit and campaign awards.
