Command Master Chief, USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49)

19 August 2024 Command Master Chief Elvin M. Manzanarez is a native of Los Angeles, California. He joined the United States Navy and attended Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois in January of 2002. After graduation, he reported to Mess Management Specialist “A” School in San Antonio, Texas.

His sea duty assignments include serving as a as a Culinary Specialist aboard USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74), Supply Department Leading Chief Petty Officer aboard USS Vandegrift (FFG 48), Cargo Leading Chief Petty Officer aboard PCU Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78), Leading Culinary Specialist aboard USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70).

His shore duty assignments include; Commander Third Fleet, San Diego, California; Naval Hospital 29 Palms, Twentynine Palms, California. He is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 241). He was selected for the Command Senior Chief program in 2023 and attended the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Leadership School May 2023. Upon graduation he reported as the Command Senior Chief to Military Entrance Processing Station New Orleans. Senior Chief Manzanarez was selected for Command Master Chief in 2024.

His current assignment is Command Master Chief onboard USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49).

He holds an Associate of Science in Business Administration from Copper Mountain College. His personal awards include Defense Meritorious Service Medal, three Navy Commendation Medals, five Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, and various unit and campaign awards.
