Master Chief Jared D. Mueller is a proud native of Indio, Calif., and enlisted in the United States Navy April 1997. He attended Recruit Training in Great Lakes, Ill.

Mueller’s sea duty assignments include duty on aircraft carriers and amphibious ships. During these tours, he deployed to the Western Pacific on multiple occasions. He served as a Crash Crewman and Aviation Boatswains Mate onboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72); USS Nimitz (CVN 68), where he advanced to Chief Petty Officer in 2005, and served as Crash and Salvage Lead Chief Petty Officer and Flight Deck Lead Chief Petty Officer; Air Department Lead Chief Petty Officer and Commissioning Coordinator onboard USS Anchorage (LPD 23); Air Department V-1 Division Lead Chief Petty Officer and Flight Deck Officer onboard USS Essex (LHD 2).

His shore tours include service at Goodfellow Air Force Base, San Angelo, Tex., where he attended the Luis F. Garland Fire Academy; Airfield Crash Captain and Aviation Boatswain Mate at Naval Station Rota, Spain, where he was assigned to the base fire department; and Force Nonskid Installation Officer for Commander Naval Air Forces.

He attended the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 162/Blue) in 2011. While assigned onboard USS ESSEX, He was selected for the Command Senior Chief Program and went to attend the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course in 2015.

His tours as a Command Senior Chief and Command Master Chief included assignments to LSC Crew 202, conducting Mine Warfare mission package testing onboard USS INDEPENDENCE (LCS 2) and commissioned the USS GABRIELLE GIFFORDS (LCS-10). During his follow-on CMC tour, he guided USS STOCKDALE (DDG-106) on deployment through 5th, & 7th fleet AOR’s, championed a best in Class Board of Inspection and Survey material inspection, and also helped lead the crew to being awarded the 2018 Retention Excellence Award. He served his next tour as CMC for USS SOMERSET (LPD-25), completing an unprecedented 8 month deployment in 5th and 7th fleet during the COVID-19 pandemic, conducting the draw down in Somalia with the 15th MEU, while being awarded the 2020 Battle Effectiveness and Unit Tactics award. His most recent CMC tour was Naval Beach Group ONE as the ISIC CMC for 5 NSE’s, where he deployed as the SEL for POTUS directed Joint Foreign Humanitarian Aid relief in Gaza.

Command Master Chief Mueller is currently assigned to AMPHIBIOUS SQUADRON ONE as the Command Master Chief.

He earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Organizational leadership. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (3 Awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4 awards), Good Conduct Medal (8 awards) and various other campaign and service awards.
