Robotics Warfare Specialist Senior Chief Kyle L. Sigmon is a native of Hickory, NC and enlisted in the Navy in August 2009. Completing basic training at Naval Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL in October 2009, he proceeded to Naval Station Great Lakes, Great Lakes, IL to complete Operations Specialist “A” School.
His sea duty assignments include USS NIMITZ (CVN 68) deploying in support of OPERATIONS IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM as an Air Intercept Controller; Tactical Air Control Squadron Eleven, deploying on USS BOXER (LHD 4) and USS MAKIN ISLAND (LHD 8) as the Air Defense Coordinator in support of OPERATION INHERENT RESOLVE and OCTAVE QUARTZ.
Sigmon’s shore tours include Fleet Anti-Submarine Warfare Training Center, Point Loma, CA, as an Air Intercept Controller Instructor, earning his Master Training Specialist designation, Surface Development Group ONE as the N9 Experimentation Department Leading Chief Petty Officer.
His current assignment is Senior Enlisted Leader for Unmanned Surface Vessel Squadron THREE, San Diego, CA.
His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), the Good Conduct Medal (four awards), as well as various unit awards, campaign and service decorations.
