COMMAND MASTER CHIEF, USS CANBERRA (LCS 30) GOLD CREW

07 January 2025 Senior Chief Alicia Henderson a native of Salt Lake City, Utah, enlisted in the United States Navy in July 2003. After completing basic training, she completed Hospital Corpsman A-school and Field Medical Service School. Upon graduation in April 2004, she reported to Surgical Tech C-School where she graduated top of her class. Her first assignment was Naval Hospital Bremerton, Washington where she served as a Surgical Tech and promoted to Petty Officer Third Class.

In January 2007, she reported to 1st Medical Battalion, 1st Force Service Support Group, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California. While attached, she deployed to Al Taqaddum, Iraq in support of OIF and earned her Fleet Marine Force Warfare insignia. Following her return, she advanced to Second Class Petty Officer and deployed with Alpha Surgical Company to Camp Dwyer, Afghanistan in support of OEF.

In February 2011, she reported to Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, California and served as the Leading Petty Officer for the Directorate for Surgical Services and the Main Operating Room. While there she advanced to Petty Officer First Class.

In December 2016, she transferred to 3rd Medical Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force, Okinawa, Japan where she was promoted to Chief Petty Officer. She deployed as the Senior Enlisted Leader with Expeditionary Operations Training Group, III MEF in support for exercise Cobra Gold in Phitsanulok, Thailand.

In November 2019 she reported to Navy Medicine Readiness & Training Command, San Diego, California and deployed in March of 2020 with USNS Mercy in support of Defense Support of Civil Authorities providing COVID-19 relief in Los Angeles, California. She later deployed with the USNS Mercy as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the Full Operating Status (FOS) personnel in direct support of Pacific Partnership 2022 and earned her Enlisted Surface Warfare insignia.

In January 2023 she reported to 1st Medical Battalion, promoted to Senior Chief and was appointed as Surgical Company Alpha's Senior Enlisted Leader. Shortly following she was selected for the Command Senior Enlisted Leader program with follow on orders to USS Canberra Gold (LCS 30).

CMDCS Henderson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Health Care Administration from Ashford University. She graduated from the Senior Enlisted Academy (258 Orange). Her decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation medal (4 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal (2 awards), various unit and service awards.
