CDR Kevin Lewman

Executive Officer USS JOHN P. MURTHA (LPD 26)

13 February 2025 A native of Saint Louis, MO, CDR Kevin Lewman commissioned in 2009 through the University of Missouri NROTC with a Bachelor of Arts in history.
 

At sea, he initially served onboard USS PATRIOT (MCM 7) in both topside and engineering Division Officer roles. He then served as Damage Control Assistant onboard USS RODNEY M. DAVIS (FFG 60). He served his Department Head tours as Engineer Officer onboard both USS TULSA (LCS 16) and USS ZUMWALT (DDG 1000).

Ashore, he served overseas as Weapons Officer for Naval Station Bahrain and subsequently as a Maritime SME in the Joint Operations Center watchstander for NATO’s Joint Forces Command in Naples, Italy. Within CONUS, he served as a Maritime Warfare tactics instructor at SWOS in Newport, RI. Most recently, he graduated with distinction from the U.S. Naval War College holding a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies.

Commander Lewman’s personal awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and unit, campaign, and service awards.

He joined USS JOHN P. MURTHA (LPD 26) in February 2025 as Executive Officer.
