CAPT Patrick J. Sullivan

Executive Officer, USS Tripoli (LHA 7)

17 April 2025 Captain Sullivan graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Political Science in 1998. He received his commission through Officer Candidate School in 2000. He earned a Master’s Degree in Modeling, Virtual Environments, and Simulation (MOVES) from the Naval Postgraduate School in 2006 and received the Surface Navy Association Award for outstanding research in Surface Warfare.

Afloat CAPT Sullivan served in USS O’KANE (DDG-77), and USS TRUXTUN (DDG-103). He was Executive Officer and Commanding Officer of USS AVENGER (MCM-1), Fleet Scheduler at COMSEVENTH Fleet, and Executive Officer and Commanding Officer of USS McCAMPBELL (DDG-85).

Ashore, CAPT Sullivan has served as the Deputy Division Chief for J36 - Space and Integrated Air and Missile Defense at USINDOPACOM and as the Planning Directorate Chief (J3/5) for Joint Task Force Red Hill in Pearl Harbor Hawaii.  Most recently CAPT Sullivan served as the Deputy Commander of COMNAVSURGRU WESTPAC in Sasebo, Japan.

CAPT Sullivan’s personal decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
