A native of Yucaipa, California, Command
Master Chief Troy A. Bojorquiz graduated from Yucaipa High School in 1994 and enlisted in the United States Navy in October 1996. He attended basic recruit training and Hospital Corpsman training at Great Lakes, Illinois, followed by Field Medical Service School at Camp Pendleton, California in 1997.
From 1997 to 2001, he has served as a Fleet Marine Forces Field Medical Technician with 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines and 1st Tank Battalion in Twentynine Palms, California. He cross rated from Hospital Corpsman to Dental Technician in 2003, upon completion of formalized training to become a registered dental hygienist at Pensacola State College. In 2005, he converted back to Hospital Corpsman as a result of the Hospital Corpsman and Dental Technician rating merger.
Ashore, Command Master Chief Bojorquiz has served at Naval Hospital Bremerton and Surface Warfare Medical Institute. He served as an individual augmentee, deployed in support of Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom to Expeditionary Medical Facility Kuwait and also deployed to Helmand Province Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom with 1st Medical Battalion.
All of his afloat tours were completed while assigned to the Forward Deployed Naval Forces in Yokosuka, Japan, serving aboard USS KITTY HAWK (CV-63), USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76), and his first two Command Master Chief tours aboard USS MUSTIN (DDG 89) and USS MILIUS (DDG 69). He continued service to the Froward Deployed Naval Forces, Japan, serving as Command Master Chief at Naval Surface Group Western Pacific prior to his current assignment as Command Master Chief at Destroyer Squadron 15.
Command Master Chief Bojorquiz’ personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards); Army Achievement Medal and various service, campaign, and unit awards. He is Surface, Fleet Marine Force, Aviation, and Information Warfare qualified and designated as a Master Training Specialist. He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy, Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course, Advanced Command Master Chief course, holds an associate degree in applied health science and continues to maintain national and state licensure as a registered dental hygienist.
