CDR Muzik M. McClinton

Executive Officer, USS JOHN L CANLEY (ESB6) Blue Crew

09 May 2025 A native of Atlanta, Georgia, CDR Muzik McClinton earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Georgia State University and a Master of Business Administration from Savannah State University. He received his commission in 2010 from Officer Candidate School.

His tours at sea include Repair and Auxiliaries Officer onboard USS PONCE (LPD 15), Weapons Officer with 
PC CREW ECHO/USS WHIRLWIND (PC 11), Combat Systems Officer onboard USS ANCHORAGE (LPD 23), and First Lieutenant onboard USS MAKIN ISLAND (LHD 8).
 
Ashore, CDR McClinton served as the Assistant Professor of Naval Science at Naval Reserve Officer Training  Command, Savannah State University and Director of Officer of the Deck Phase II at Mariner Skills Training Center Pacific.
 
CDR McClinton’s awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy Achievement Medal (three awards), and multiple unit, campaign and service awards.
