Commander Alexia Morgan is a native of Lakeside, Arizona. Enlisted in the navy in April 2001 as a Fire Controlman. She completed Aegis AN/SPY 1D “C” school and joined the crew of USS JOHN PAUL JONES, (DDG 53) in 2003. Selected for Seaman to Admiral-21 in November 2006, she attended San Diego State University, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and commissioning in December 2009. She is also a graduate of National University earning her Masters of Arts degree in Human Resources Management.

Commander Morgan’s sea tours include Auxiliaries Officer and Combat Information Center Officer aboard USS CAPE ST. GEORGE, (CG 71) from 2010-2012 deploying twice to the Fifth fleet area of responsibility in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Her next tour was Training Officer aboard USS SAMPSON, (DDG 102) from 2012-2014 leading the crew through INSURV and a rigorous training cycle. Her first department head tour was aboard USS STOCKDALE (DDG 106) as the Weapons Officer, deploying to C5F, conducting a successful INSURV and Selected Restricted Availability. Her next tour was as the Plans and Tactics Officer and Senior Watch Officer aboard USS PAUL HAMILTON (DDG 60), from 2020 through 2022, where she has led her department through a successful nine month Selected Restricted Availability, and a full basic phase. She planned and executed the first multi-ship complex final battle problem and assisted in the efforts for READ E-6 and SWATT. Most recently she served as Staff Director for Destroyer Squadron NINE deployed to 7th Fleet area of operations.

Ashore, Commander Morgan served as Production Department’s Principle Assistant at Southwest Regional Maintenance Center, and Administrative Officer (N1) and Combat Systems Officer (N8) at Destroyer Squadron THREE ONE and Chief of Naval Personnel (OPNAV N13M5) to the director for Total Force Manpower, Training, and Education Requirements in Washington D.C. where she served as Requirements Officer managing the N95/N96 Portfolios.

She is a recipient of various personal and campaign awards.
