MMC (SW) Carter is a native of Birmingham, Alabama, where he graduated from Hayes High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy in July 2006 as a Machinist Mate.
After graduating from basic training, he attended Basic Engineering Common Core (BECC) and subsequently reported to his first command, the USS Nimitz (CVN-68), in December 2006. Following his service on the USS Nimitz, he reported to the Naval Base in Bangor, Washington, where he worked in the Pump and Valve shop from 2012 to 2015. During that time, he also served on the Bangor Flag Corps.
From 2015 to 2019, he was assigned to the USS Theodore Roosevelt. After completing his rotation on the Roosevelt, he reported to Recruiting Duty with the Navy Talent Acquisition Group Pacific (NTAG Pacific) 2019 -2023, where he was promoted to Chief Petty Officer. He Served as the DLCPO for TAC Hollywood and Metro Division.
MMC Carter’s decorations include several awards and commendations. He currently serves as the Senior Enlisted Leader for Commander, Amphibious Squadron FIVE (CPR-5).
