Commander Kyle Corry is a native of Hartland, Michigan. He enlisted in the United States Navy as an Aviation Machinists Mate and Rescue Swimmer in July 2001. He is a 2008 graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD with a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering.
CDR Corry completed operational flying tours with the “Providers” of HC-5, “Tridents” of HSC-9, and “Chargers” of HSC-26. During these tours he completed multiple deployments in the FIFTH, SIXTH, and SEVENTH Fleet areas of responsibility in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM, Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, Operation NEW DAWN, and numerous other exercises. His non-flying operational tour was completed on the USS Mesa Verde (LPD-19) where he served as the Fuels Officer, Safety Officer, and Air Officer. During this tour, he also earned his Officer of the Deck (OOD) qualification.
His shore tours include a flight instructor tour with the “Fleet Angels” of HSC-2 and the “Merlins” of HSC-3 where he served as the Training Officer.
He currently serves as the Chief Staff Officer at Mine Countermeasures Group THREE in San Diego.
CDR Corry has accumulated over 2,000 flight hours in the MH-60S Seahawk. His awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (5 awards) and various service awards and ribbons.
