CDR Megan McCulloch is a native of Fort Lauderdale, FL and commissioned in May 2009 from the United States Naval Academy.
A surface warfare officer, CDR McCulloch has served in multiple operational billets across several platforms. Her division officer tours include a variety of billets in USS DENVER (LPD 9) forward deployed to Sasebo, Japan and damage control assistant in USS GETTYSBURG (CG 64) homeported in Mayport, FL. Department head tours include plans and tactics officer in USS CURTIS WILBUR (DDG 54) and the N3 in Destroyer Squadron FIFTEEN, both forward deployed to Yokosuka, Japan. She is currently serving as executive officer in USS RAFAEL PERALTA (DDG 115) forward deployed to Yokosuka, Japan.
Ashore, CDR McCulloch most recently served in the Joint Staff, J5. Previous assignments include a defense fellowship in the United States Senate, special assistant to the Director, Navy Staff (OPNAV DNS-X), and in the Strategic and Warfighting Innovation Cell (OPNAV N7).
CDR McCulloch has earned a Bachelor of Science, Political Science from the US Naval Academy and a Master of Arts in National Security Studies, East Asia from the Naval Postgraduate School.
