A proud native of where the best Navy Destroyers are built, Bath Maine; and a graduate of Morse High School, he entered the Navy through the Navy Delayed Entry Program in February 2003. After graduation from Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes he attended Aviation Enlisted Aircrew Training School and Aviation Rescue Swimmer School at Naval Aviation Schools Command (NASC) and Aviation Machinist's Mate (AD) “A” School at Naval Air Technical Training Center (NATTC) in Pensacola, FL. He attended Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) School at Naval Education and Training Command and did flight training at Helicopter Combat Support Squadron THREE (HC-3) in San Diego, CA, earning his Naval Aircrew Warfare Specialist (NAC) wings of gold.

His sea duties were with Helicopter Combat Support Squadron FIVE (HC-5) later re-designated to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron TWO FIVE (HCS-25) in Yigo, Guam, where he earned Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist (EAWS) and help establish the 2515th Naval Air Ambulance Detachment (2515th NAAD) in Kuwait/Iraq. In 2006 he was re-rated from Aviation Machinist's Mate (AD) to Naval Aircrewman Helicopter (AWS). He completed an Individual Augmentee (IA) with Task Group Trident in Afghanistan earning Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist (IW). His only stateside sea duty was with Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron TWO SIX (HSC-26) in Norfolk, VA where he helped establish the Navy’s first H60 Airborne Mine Countermeasures (AMCM) detachment “Laser Hawks” in Bahrain. His last sea duty squadron was with Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron TWELVE (HSC-12) in Atsugi, Japan, where he reached the milestone of 3000 flight hours and was selected for the CMC/COB program. He was the first Command Senior Chief for 3rd Dental Battalion (3D DEN BN), 3rd Marine Logistics Group (3D MLG), III Marine Expeditionary Force (III MEF) in Okinawa, Japan earning Fleet Marine Force Enlisted Warfare Specialist (FMF). 

Both of his shore tours were instructor duty with the first being at Aviation Rescue Swimmer School (ARSS) and Aircrew Candidate School at Naval Aviation Schools Command (NASC) in Pensacola, FL where he earned his Master Training Specialist (MTS). His second shore duty was at Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS), Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron TWO (HSC-2) in Norfolk, VA where he instructed MH-60S flight school, MH-60S Airborne Mine Countermeasures (AMCM) flight school, and MQ-8 Fire Scout flight school. 

Command Master Chief Roberts joined the Bath built USS Rafael Peralta, (DDG 115) in Yokosuka, Japan in May 2025 where he is currently serving. 

Command Master Chief Roberts has completed deployments in the SECOND, THIRD, FIFTH, and SEVENTH Fleet areas of responsibilities. He is a graduate of Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center (NAWDC) Rotary Wing Weapons School in Fallon, NV, the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 249/Red), as well as the CMC/COB Course (Class 24030). His awards include Air/Strike Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Army Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), Army Achievement Medal (two awards) and various other personal and unit awards. His personal decorations and unit citations are attributed to the outstanding men and women he has served with throughout his career.
