Command Master Chief, USS FITZGERALD (DDG 62)

09 July 2025 CMDCM Delgado, Francisco J. a San Diego, CA. native. Enlisted July 7, 2002 and completed recruit training and Seaman ATD School in Great Lakes, IL. September 2002.

His initial sea tour was USS Constellation (CV 64) stationed in San Diego, CA. Deployed shortly after his arrival and became rated as Boatswain’s Mate and earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (ESWS) qualification. After decommissioning he reported to USS HIGGINS (DDG-76) 2003 were he deployed and conducted a Crew Swap to USS JOHN PAUL JONES (DDG-53) advanced to 3rd class and conducted a deployment and transferred in 2006. Reported to BEACH MASTER UNIT ONE in Coronado, CA. from Jul 2006 to 2010 where he was advanced to 2nd Class. Received IA orders to NAVELASG FWD KUWAIT. From 2010 to 2011 he was boots on ground with Customs unit where he advanced to 1st class. After his tour Reported to AMPHIBIOUS CONSTRUCTION BATTALION ONE, where he qualified as a Craftmaster for the INLS craft and was selected to Chief Petty Officer in 2013. Upon selection received orders to Pre-Com Unit USS AMERICA (LHA-6). Conducted her sail around and commissioned her in 2014. 2015 received orders to USS HOWARD (DDG-83) completed a complex dry-dock in Portland OR. Selected to fill a gapped billet onboard USS PICKNEY (DDG-91) guiding them through INSURV and work ups in preparation for deployment 2017/18. Returned to USS HOWARD where he completed a successful deployment. 2018 transferred to COMLCSRON ONE as a MOB-S Lead and stood up SURFACEDIV ELEVEN in San Diego and advanced to Senior Chief. Cut shore tour short to fill a gapped billet onboard USS SAN DIEGO (LPD-22) were he completed a COVID deployment and a mid-life dry dock and a full work up cycle in preparation for her homeport shift to JAPAN. His accomplishments have been Selected for CMDCS, Senior Enlisted Academy Class 235, ATS Certified, BM Master, CPOA President last 3 commands, DAPA, CRAV Lead and C-NLDF, 8CMC NEC. Executed his initial CMD tour onboard USS SAVANNAH (LCS 28). Currently serving as CMC onboard the “Fighting FITZ” USS FITZGERALD (DDG 62).

His awards include (3) NAVY COMMENDATION MEDALS, (5) NAVY ACHIEVEMENT MEDALS, (2) ARMY ACHIEVEMENT MEDALS and various campaign and operational awards.
