COMMAND MASTER CHIEF, USS DANIEL INOUYE (DDG 118)

19 May 2025 Master Chief Crichton is a native of Bremerton, WA. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on July 15, 2003. Completing Basic Recruit Training and reported to his first sea command, the USS John C. Stennis (CVN-74) as an undesignated Seaman. 

Master Chief Crichton completed his first sea duty assignment from October 2003 through September 2008. During this tour he struck Boatswain’s Mate, advanced to Second Class Petty Officer, and earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare and Enlisted Aviation Warfare designations. Subsequent sea tour assignments were onboard USS Lake Champlain (CG 57) from November 2011 through October 2015 as Deck Leading Petty Officer (LPO), USS Milius (DDG 69) from October 2015 through November 2016 as Deck Leading Chief Petty Officer (LCPO), Destroyer Squadron 23 from November 2019 through August 2022 as N3 (Operations) LCPO, USS Germantown (LSD 42) from August 2022 through May 2024 as Deck DLCPO and Senior Enlisted Leader. 

Master Chief Crichton’s shore duty assignments include Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Transient Personnel Unit from September 2008 through October 2011 as Department LPO, Afloat Training Group, Middle Pacific from November 2016 through November 2019 as Anti-terrorism Warfare Lead/LCPO, and Air Test and Evaluation Squadron Nine, Edwards Air Force Base Detachment from May 2024 through June 2025 as Command Senior Chief.

In May 2025, he reported to USS Daniel Inouye (DDG 118) in Pearl Harbor, HI where he currently serves as Command Master Chief.

Master Chief Crichton has earned an Associate Degree in Management Studies and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland Global Campus. His awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (9 awards), and numerous other personal, unit, and campaign awards.
