Captain Christy is from Seattle, Washington. She graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science.
Captain Christy’s sea duty assignments include Deputy Commodore DESRON 21 where she also temporarily commanded USS JOHN S. McCAIN (DDG 56) during an operational deployment, Future Operations Officer at U.S. SEVENTH Fleet, and Executive Officer and Commanding Officer of USS McCAMPBELL (DDG 85) in Yokosuka, Japan.
She also served as Combat Systems Officer in USS PORT ROYAL (CG 73), Operations Officer in USS PAUL HAMILTON (DDG 60), and Strike Officer and Navigator in USS PORTER (DDG 78).
Ashore, Captain Christy most recently served as Missile Defense Policy Division Chief and Executive Assistant in the Joint Staff Strategy, Plans and Policy Directorate (J-5). She has also been assigned as the Surface and Expeditionary Portfolio Manager in the Navy Office of Legislative Affairs, and a Junior Officer Detailer and Junior Officer Shore Coordinator (PERS 412) in Navy Personnel Command.
She holds a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island.
