CAPT Dave Hollon

DEPUTY COMMODORE, DESTROYER SQUADRON 21 (CDS 21)

11 August 2025 A native of Lima, OH, Captain Hollon earned his commission as a Supply Corps Officer via Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, FL.

At sea, Hollon served as disbursing and sales officer in USS TICONDEROGA (CG 47) where he laterally transferred and qualified as a Surface Warfare Officer, damage control assistant and auxiliaries officer in USS GONZALEZ (DDG 66) and USS LABOON (DDG 58), chief engineer in USS MOMSEN (DDG 92) and USS CHOSIN (CG 65), and executive officer in USS CHUNG-HOON (DDG 93). Hollon commanded USS CHUNG-HOON (DDG 93).

Ashore, Hollon served as associate professor of naval science at The University of Arizona, engineering and material readiness instructor at Surface Warfare Officer School, deputy assistant chief of staff and lead engineering inspector on Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet’s Material Inspection Team, Surface Warfare Advanced Tactical Training and performance analysis lead at Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center and Deputy Director of the Surface Advanced Warfighting School.
