Commander Michael Mullee is a native of Huntington Beach, California. He graduated as a Distinguished Graduate from the United States Naval Academy in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Honors English. He also earned a Master of Arts degree in Defense and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College in 2023.
CDR Mullee’s sea duty assignments include tours as a Division Officer in USS HALSEY (DDG 97), as Chief Engineer in USS PAUL HAMILTON (DDG 60) and USS SOMERSET (LPD 25), and as Executive Officer in USS ANCHORAGE (LPD 23).
Ashore, CDR Mullee served as the Aide to the Deputy of CJIATF 435 in Kabul, Afghanistan and as a Navy Senate Liaison Officer with the Office of Legislative Affairs. He also served as Expeditionary Strike Group THREE Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for Material Readiness and as a diesel and gas turbine MOB-E Project Officer and Assessor with Engineering Assessments Pacific. He currently serves as Executive Officer of Unmanned Surface Vessel Squadron One.
CDR Mullee’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (six awards), Army Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various campaign and unit awards.
