CMDCS(SW/AW) Christalyn L. Pierre-lys hails from Houston, TX. In July 2007, she reported for active duty at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois. Following Recruit Training, Senior Chief Pierre-lys reported to Basic Engineering Common Core “A” School in Great Lakes, Illinois and began her Navy career as an Engineman.

Afloat, her history of assignments include USS WINSTON S. CHURCHILL (DDG 81), Norfolk, VA reporting in January 2008 as an Engineman. In May 2016, she reported to the USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER (CVN 69), Norfolk, VA where she served as the Auxiliaries Division Leading Chief Petty Officer. While stationed there in 2017 Senior Chief Pierre-lys was advanced to Chief Petty Officer. In May 2023, she reported to Commander, Destroyer Squadron 23, San Diego, CA where she served as the N4 Department Leading Chief Petty Officer. Throughout her sea tours she completed 5 deployments where she was in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation New Dawn, and Operation Inherent Resolve.

Ashore, her assignments include Joint Force Staff College (JFSC) NSA Hampton Roads, Norfolk, VA reporting in January 2013 as the Operations Department Leading Petty Officer. In September 2020, she reported to DDG 1000 Shore Training Facility, San Diego, CA as the Deck Self-Assessment Groom Training (DSAGT) Team Lead. While stationed there in 2020 Senior Chief Pierre-lys was advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer. In August 2024, she reported to Commander, Naval Surface Group Southwest (CNSGSW), San Diego, CA, where she served as the Auxiliaries Lead for the N47 CRUDES Readiness Team and was selected for Command Senior Chief.

Pierre-lys reported to USS SANTA BARBARA (LCS 32) Crew 230 in July 2025, following her selection into the Command Senior Enlisted Leadership program.

Her academic achievements include an Associates of Applied Science and Technical Studies and a Bachelor of Business Management from Excelsior College. She is graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 255/Gold)

Command Senior Chief Pierre-lys has been awarded the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Navy and Marine Commendation Medal (four awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, and other various unit and service awards. Senior Chief Pierre-lys is also the 2019 “Waging Peace” Leadership award recipient.
