Command Master Chief Lee Skinner, a native of Muenster, Texas, enlisted in the United States Navy and reported to basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, in October 2000. Following completion of basic training, he completed Basic Enlisted Submarine School and Machinist Mate “A” School.
Master Chief Skinner’s sea duty assignments include USS Columbia (SSN 771), USS Alabama (SSBN 731) (BLUE), USS Greeneville (SSN 772), and USS Cheyenne (SSN 773). His shore duty assignments include Instructor/Division Officer at Trident Training Facility Kings Bay, Georgia and Damage Control Assistant at Submarine Squadron 7.
Since his selection into the Command Senior Enlisted Leader (CSEL) program in 2017, he had the privilege of serving as Chief of the Boat onboard USS Bremerton (SSN 698) and USS Pennsylvania (SSBN 735)(BLUE). He served as Command Master Chief of Regional Support Group Groton/Naval Submarine Support Facility New London and USS O’Kane (DDG 77).
Presently, Master Chief Skinner is assigned to Command Destroyer Squadron One as the Command Master Chief
His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (3 Awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards, one with Combat “C” Device), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6 awards), Combat Action Ribbon and various unit and campaign awards.
