LCDR Rowell A. Caguioa

05 September 2025 Lieutenant Commander (LCDR) Rowell A. Caguioa, a native of San Carlos City, Pangasinan, Philippines, enlisted in the United States Navy in 2005. After serving for five years as a Storekeeper (SK), LCDR Caguioa was selected for the Officer Candidate School program and was commissioned in January of 2011.

Prior to his commission, LCDR Caguioa completed a sea tour aboard the USS BUNKER HILL (CG 52) and earned a Master of Arts in Management from National University in San Diego. Following this, he served at Fleet Logistics Center in Yokosuka, Japan, during a shore assignment.

LCDR Caguioa’s division officer assignments included serving as the Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer aboard USS CAPE ST. GEORGE (CG 71) and as the Electronics Material Officer aboard USS FREEDOM (LCS 1). He then completed department head tours as the Operations Officer aboard USS SCOUT (MCM 8) and as the Plans and Tactics Officer aboard USS ESSEX (LHD 2).

Ashore, LCDR Caguioa served at Mine Countermeasure Division Three One (MCMDIV THREE ONE) and at the Mine Countermeasure Technical Division (MCMTD) at the Surface Mine Warfare Development Center (SMWDC) where he qualified as a Mine (MIW) Warfare Tactics Instructor (WTI).

LCDR Caguioa’s personal decorations include the Joint Service Commendation Medal (1), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4), Navy Achievement Medal (4), and various unit and service awards.
