CDR Jochelle Schatz

EXECUTIVE OFFICER, USS GREEN BAY (LPD 20)

14 October 2025 A native of Chewelah, WA, CDR Jochelle Schatz graduated from Whitworth University in Washington state earning a Bachelor of Arts in History and Economics in 2010. She received her commission from Officer Candidate School in Newport, RI in 2010.

She is a Surface Warfare Officer whose sea assignments include USS WILLIAM P. LAWRENCE (DDG 110), USS BONHOMME RICHARD (LHD 6), and USS TRIPOLI (LHA 7). On her first division officer tour, she served as the Gunnery Officer on USS WILLIAM P. LAWRENCE and fleeted up to Navigator with deployments to U.S. 5th and 7th Fleet areas of responsibility. After graduating SWOS Department Head School in Newport, RI, she completed her Department Head tours as the Combat Systems Officer on USS BONHOMME RICHARD, and as Plans and Tactics Officer on USS TRIPOLI deploying to U.S. 7th Fleet AOR.

Ashore, she served on the staff of Commander Naval Surface Force, Pacific (CNSP). Following her tour at CNSP, she completed the Amphibious Warfare Tactics Instructor (AMW WTI) course at Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC) Detachment in Little Creek, VA. After completing her Department Head tours at sea, she served on the staff of Carrier Strike Group Fifteen (CSG-15) in the Sea Combat Syndicate.

She reported to the USS GREEN BAY (LPD 20) as the warship’s Executive Officer in August 2025.

Her personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (6 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2 awards), and various unit awards.
