CMDCM Mackenson "Mack" Moise

Command Master Chief, USS Portland (LPD 27)

25 November 2025 Command Master Chief Mackenson “Mack” Moise is serving as USS PORTLAND (LPD 27) Command Master Chief (CMC). Moise was a native of Haiti and grew up in Miami, Florida. He reported to Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois in June 1996. Hestarted his career as an Undesignated Airman, promoted to Aviation Storekeeper 3rd Class in 1998 and Master Chief in 2020. Moise completed his Master’s degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and attended the Senior Enlisted Academy, the CSEL, and the advanced CSEL courses in Newport, Rhode Island. 

At sea, Moise served at Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron, Light (HSL) 51 and Fleet Logistics Support Squadron (VRC) 30 Detachment 5 in Atsugi, Japan, Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 50 in Manama, Bahrain, the USS RAMAGE (DDG 61) in Norfolk, Virginia, and Patrol Squadron (VP) 4 at Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. He completed CMC tours onboard the hospital ship USNS MERCY (T-AH 19) at Naval Base San Diego, California, the USS JOHN S. McCCAIN (DDG 56) in Everett, Washington, and the Grandmasters of HSM-46 in Jacksonville, Florida.

Ashore, he served at Roosevelt Roads’ Aviation Support Detachment in Puerto Rico, Defense Logistics Agency’s Depot at Sigonella, Italy, Headquarters, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command Camp Smith, Hawaii. He last served in the Logistics Specialist rating as Leading Chief, Aviation Support Division attached to Airborne Command & Control and Logistics Wing (ACCLOGWING) at Point Mugu, California. He last served as the Airwolves Command Master Chief of HSM-40 at Naval Station Mayport, Florida.

Personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medals, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medals, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal and various other unit awards.
