Command Master Chief Fuentes is a native of Granada, Nicaragua and was raised in Miami, Florida. He enlisted in the Navy in September 2004 and attended Basic Training and Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois. He then attended Airman ATD school in Pensacola, Florida and in 2007 he attend Master-At-Arms “A” school in NTTC Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

His sea duty assignment include USS Wasp (LHD-1) Air Department, Mobile Security Squadron Six (MSRON 6), Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron Four, Protection detail for Commander, US Naval Central Command, Chief Master-At-Arms (CMAA) OLF San Nicholas Island, Special Boat Team TWELVE as CMAA, and USS John P. Murtha (LPD-26) as CMAA.

During his sea duty assignments, he deployed to the Northern Atlantic, Mediterranean, and served on Al Basrah and Khor Al Amaya oil terminals, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

His shore duty assignments include Naval Air Station Key West, FL, NCIS Threat Mitigation Unit, Bahrain, Naval Base Ventura County, CA, and Naval Base San Diego, CA.

Master Chief Fuentes graduated from the United States Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Blue) in December 2021 and the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Leadership course in August 2024. He served as Command Senior Chief aboard USS Oakland (LCS-24) from 2024 to 2025 where he promoted to Command Master Chief in 2025. He assumed duties as Command Master Chief aboard USS Stethem (DDG-63) in November 2025.

His personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (six awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards), Good Conduct Medal (six awards), and multiple campaign and service awards. He is qualified as Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Air Warfare Specialist, Expeditionary Warfare Specialist, and Information Warfare Specialist. He earned his Associates Degree in Emergency Management/ Homeland Security from Coastline Community College.
