CDR Daniel J. Rocha

EXECUTIVE OFFICER, USS RUSHMORE (LSD 47)

17 December 2025 CDR Daniel Rocha attended the United State Naval Academy, Graduating in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in History and a commission as a Surface Warfare Officer.

At sea assignments include Division Officer tours on USS GUARDIAN (MCM 5) as the First Lieutenant and USS PORTER (DDG 78) as the Fire Control Officer. He completed Department Head tours on USS MUSTIN (DDG 89) as the Planing and Tactics Officer and USS MICHAEL MONSOOR (DDG 1001) as the Combat Systems Officer. CDR Rocha also served onboard USS AMERICA (LHA 6) as the C5I Officer for a Head of Department tour.

While ashore, CDR Rocha has tours at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division and the Pentagon. At Dahlgren he served in the AEGIS In-service Fleet Support office where he participated in many BMD test missions and conduct AEGIS Weapons System updates and installs all over the world. At the Pentagon he served on the OPNAV Staff in OPNAV N2N6W3 as the Resource Officer for the Cooperative Engagement Capability.

CDR Rocha’s awards include four Navy Commendations Medals, two Navy Achievement Medals, various unit, service and operational awards as well as Expert Rifle and Pistol Medals.
