Raised in Miamisburg, OH; Master Chief Hyatt enlisted in the United State Navy in May 2000. Upon completion of Basic Training, he reported to Electronic Warfare Technician (EW) “A” and “C” School in Pensacola, FL.

His sea assignments include USS CAPE ST. GEORGE (CG 71), USS MCFAUL (DDG 74), USS LABOON (DDG 58), Plankowner USS SPRUANCE (DDG 111), and USS LAKE CHAMPLAIN (CG 57).

His shore assignments include Navy Information Operations Command (NAVIOCOM) Colorado and Afloat Training Group, San Diego. He also volunteered for an Individual Augmentee as an Electronic Warfare Officer as part of Joint Composite Crew Squadron One (JCCS-1) serving with the 1-82nd Airborne Division.

His Command tours include Executive Assistant to the Naval Forces Europe, Naval Forces Africa Fleet Master Chief, Plankowner USS KANSAS CITY (LCS 22), and USS RALPH JOHNSON (DDG 114).

Most recently he served as the Command Master Chief of Commander, Littoral Combat Ship Squadron ONE, responsible for 28 Afloat commands and 18 LCS ships.

He is currently the Command Master Chief of USS ZUMWALT (DDG 1000).

He has been part of teams that have earned seven Battle Effectiveness Awards, and various service and campaign awards. He holds an MBA in Organizational Leadership, is a graduate of Senior Enlisted Academy Class 209 (Red), Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat, Class 193, and Advanced Command Master Chief, Class 002.
