LCDR Marenko

LCDR Meagan Makarenko is a native of Albuquerque, NM. She graduated from Texas A&M in 2006 as a proud member of the Corps of Cadets. She holds an MBA in Financial Management from the Navy Postgraduate School.

Meagan’s sea duty assignments include Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer, Damage Control Assistant, and Training Officer aboard USS LAKE ERIE (CG 70) and to return again to LAKE ERIE to stand up the nascent Planning and Tactics Department. During these tours, she served aboard a BMD test platform, deployed to the Arabian Gulf, Western Pacific, Sea of Japan, South China Sea, and East China Sea.

Ashore, she served on the ISAF Joint Command, Information Dominance Center in Afghanistan as a desk chief for reintegration.

Makarenko's decorations include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and other personal, unit and campaign awards. LCDR Makarenko reported as Executive Officer onboard USS PIONEER in July 2018 and assumed command in March 2020.
