Master Chief Lewis is a native of Trelawny, Jamaica.  He enlisted in the United States Navy in January 1999, attending Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, IL. Upon completion of boot camp, he attended Hospital Corpsman ‘A’ School in Great Lakes, IL and follow-on Training Field Medical Service School, Camp Johnson, NC.In 1999, Master Chief Lewis reported to 2nd Medical Battalion, 2D Force Service Support Group in Camp Lejeune, NC where he served as Field Medical Technician.

In October 2006, he reported to the Naval Survival Training Institute, NAS Pensacola where he earned his Master Training Specialist qualification and was advanced to the rank of Chief Petty Officer on September 16, 2009.

Master Chief Lewis has served in a variety of duty stations around the globe to include Naval Hospital Sigonella, Italy, 2D Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, NC, Naval Branch Health Clinic Atsugi, Japan, USS RONALD REAGAN, Yokosuka, Japan where he earned his Afloat Training Specialist qualification and VFA 102 DIAMONDBACKS, MCAS Iwakuni, Japan.  Currently serves as Command Master Chief at USS CHANCELLORSVILLE (CG 62), Yokosuka, Japan. He is a graduate of the CMC/COB course Class 17140, Senior Enlisted Academy Class 170 (Brown Group) and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration. 

His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (six awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), Combat Action Ribbon (two awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
