Command Master Chief Alonso enlisted in the United States Navy in April 1996 and began serving as the 6th USS STERETT (DDG 104) Command Master Chief on December 2020. Service Schools: RTC Great Lakes; Apprenticeship Training NTC Great Lakes; Hospital Corpsman “A” School Great Lakes; Field Medical Service School Camp Pendleton; Operating Room Technician School San Diego; Surface Force Independent Duty Corpsman School San Diego; Senior Enlisted Academy Class 208; U.S. Coast Guard Senior Enlisted Leadership Course Class 64; CMDCM/COB Course Class 191.
Shore Commands: Afloat Training Group, San Diego; Naval Medical Center San Diego; Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, Inspector- Instructor Staff B Co, 1st BN, 14th Marines; Inspector-Instructor Staff E Co, 4th Reconnaissance BN; Littoral Combat Ship Squadron ONE, San Diego. He has served on teams that have been recognized with numerous awards and is the recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5 awards) and Combat Action Ribbon.
