A native of Houston, TX, CDR Rob Biggs enlisted in the Navy in 1990. He received his commission through the Limited Duty Officer program in 2002 and was later re-designated to Unrestricted Line Officer.
CDR Biggs took command of USS RALPH JOHNSON (DDG 114) in November 2019. He served as Executive Officer of USS RALPH JOHNSON (DDG 114) from May 2018 to October 2019. On previous afloat tours he has served as the Commanding Officer and Executive Officer of USS WARRIOR (MCM 10) forward deployed to Japan, Combat Systems Officer and Weapons Officer of USS PRINCETON (CG 59) and Air Defense Officer of USS MOBILE BAY (CG 53). Shore tours include Air Defense/Ballistic Missile Defense Training and Certification Officer at Afloat Training Group Pacific and Surface Warfare Syndicate Head at Tactical Training Group Pacific.
CDR Biggs is a graduate of Park University and the Naval Postgraduate School. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (2), the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5) and various unit and campaign awards.
