Command Senior Chief Erika J. Lavallais, a native of Baltimore, Maryland, enlisted in the United States Navy in October 1996 and completed basic training and airman apprentice training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois. In 1998, she reported to Aviation Maintenance Administrationman (AZ) “A” school in Meridian, Mississippi.
Her sea tours include two deployments aboard USS Arctic (AOE 8) and USNS Mount Baker with Helicopter Combat Support Squadron SIX (HC-6); USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) where she served as maintenance admin and production control leading petty officer; and USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) with Commander, Carrier Air Wing ONE where she deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.
Her shore tours include HC-6 where she served as an undesignated airman in Norfolk; Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department where she served as a logbook clerk and Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent River, Maryland; and Officer Training Command (OTCN) in Newport, Rhode Island where she served as recruit division commander.
Lavallais completed her associates degree in general studies, her bachelor’s degree in sports and health science and accepted into the Command Senior Enlisted Leader program. She is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 178) and the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat course (Class 186).
Her current assignment is command senior chief aboard USS Manchester (LCS 14). Her military decorations include the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal and numerous campaign medals and ribbons
