Senior Chief Kristopher D. Freyberg, a native of New York, New York, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in August 1999 and completed basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois. He graduated from the Senior Enlisted Academy Class 212 and completed Command Master Chief & Chief of the Boat course.

His sea duty assignments include serving aboard USS Kauffman (FFG 59); USS Nimitz (CVN 68), where he served as the Leading Petty Officer for S-2 Division; and USS New Orleans (LPD 18), where he served as food service division lead petty officer.

Ashore, he served at Naval Explosive Ordinance Disposable School in Eglin, Florida; Naval Station Newport in Rhode Island; and Command Mine Counter Measure Squadron Three in San Diego, California. 

His current assignment is command senior chief aboard USS Fort Worth (LCS 3). 

Freyberg’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and various unit, campaign and service awards.
