Senior Chief Jason Evangelista, a native of Poughkeepsie, New York, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in September 1999, completing Aviation Electronics Technician “A” School in Pensacola, FL. He is a graduate of the United States Coast Guard Senior Enlisted Leadership Course (2018, Class 66) and earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Phoenix.
Evangelista’s sea and operational tours include Strike Fighter Squadron ONE THREE SEVEN (VFA-137) stationed at Naval Air Station Lemoore, where he served as the avionics leading chief petty officer, quality assurance supervisor, fight deck coordinator and maintenance control chief; aboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), where he served as the avionics division leading petty officer; and sea operational detachment (SEAOPDET) Whidbey Island, WA, where he served as an avionics technician and deployed on board the USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) and the USS Nimitz (CVN 68) in support of operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom.
His shore tours include Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit (CNATTU) at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS where he served as the calibration training department leading chief petty officer; CNATTU North Island, CA where he served as the senior instructor and master training specialist coordinator; and Fleet Readiness Center Northwest based out of Whidbey Island, WA.
Evangelista’s current assignment is command senior chief for USS Jackson (LCS 6) Blue Crew.
His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards); the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards); and other personal, unit, and service decorations.
