Master Chief Petty Officer Magana enlisted in the Navy in March 1997 completing recruit training at RTC Great Lakes, IL and Engineman “A” school at Service School Command, Great Lakes, IL in May 1997.

His first sea tour was aboard USS COMSTOCK (LSD-45) stationed in San Diego, CA, serving as Work Center Supervisor before transferring in April 2001. His subsequent sea command was the EOD-MU3 from April 2001 to April 2003 serving as small boat mechanic for MK11 Point Loma Det. He pre-commissioned USS MAKIN ISLAND (LHD-8) and USS WAYNE E MEYER (DDG-108) both stationed in San Diego, CA. He assumed duties as N4 DLCPO and Senior Enlisted Advisor Readiness Supervisor for COMDESRON SEVEN August 2016.

Master Chief Magana’s shore tours include Outboard Motor Overhaul Course Manager Instructor Duty at CNE Coronado, CA and PERS 402 DLCPO and Lead Engineman Detailer Millington, TN.

Master Chief Magana holds Certifications as Master Training Specialist, an Associate degree in General Studies from Coastline Community College and is persuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

His personal awards include Navy and Marine Corp Commendation Medal and Navy and Marine Corp Achievement Medal (5 awards) and various service and unit awards.
