CDR Turner reported to USS Bulkeley (DDG 84) in July of 2012 as the weapons officer and assumed duties as the combat systems officer in July of 2014.  While aboard Bulkeley, CDR Turner completed a 10-month deployment to the C6F/C5F AORs in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  Following his department head tours, he reported to Navy Warfare Development Command’s experimentation directorate in June of 2015.  While at NWDC, CDR Turner planned and executed electromagnetic maneuver warfare (EMW) focused war games and at-sea evolutions in support of the USFF/CPF annual fleet experimentation plan.

CDR Turner returned to sea in June of 2017, reporting to Carrier Strike Group Two as the strike officer while deployed to the C6F in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.  Following his selection for Executive Officer Afloat in December of 2017, CDR Turner completed a successful executive officer tour aboard USS Truxtun (DDG 103) from June of 2018 to Dec 2019.  In December of 2019, CDR Turner was selected for Commanding Officer Afloat and reported to Afloat Training Group Norfolk in February of 2020 where he served as the director of training.
