Originally from Westford, Massachusetts, Commander Conole graduated from The College of the Holy Cross in 2002 with a degree in Political Science and was commissioned through the NROTC program. He also holds a Master of Arts Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College where he graduated with distinction in 2014.

Afloat, Commander Conole completed his division officer tours as First Lieutenant in USS JOHN S. MCCAIN (DDG 56) and Main Propulsion Officer in USS RUSSELL (DDG 59). Commander Conole also served as Chief Engineer in USS JOHN PAUL JONES (DDG 53) and in USS CHANCELLORSVILLE (CG 62). He served as Executive Officer on USS PINCKNEY before assuming command in December 2020.  During his sea tours Commander Conole completed five deployments to the Western Pacific Ocean and Arabian Gulf.

Ashore, Commander Conole served as an instructor at The University of Pennsylvania NROTC Unit. During that assignment he was selected for an Individual Augmentation tour with the Army’s 443rd Civil Affairs Battalion and deployed to Mosul, Iraq. Commander Conole served at SWOS Enlisted Engineering Learning Site San Diego during the development of Littoral Combat Ship engineering training systems and as the Integrated Air & Missile Defense Branch Lead for Headquarters, Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC). He is also a graduate of the IAMD Warfare Tactics Instructor (WTI) program.

His awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, the Army Combat Action Badge and various other unit and service awards.
