Cmdr. Brandon Booher is from Hillsboro, Illinois. A surface warfare officer, he is a 2003 graduate of Marquette University’s College of Business and commissioned through Marquette’s Naval ROTC Program. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the Naval Postgraduate School and studied Persian at the Defense Language Institute.

He served division officer tours as strike officer and plankowner on USS Mustin (DDG 89) and navigator on USS Chosin (CG 65). As a department head, he served as operations officer aboard both USS Hopper (DDG 70) and USS Chosin. Most recently, he served as executive officer aboard USS Stockdale (DDG 106).  He has deployed six times to the Indo-Pacific and Arabian Gulf regions participating in Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.

Ashore, he served as an instructor in the Maritime Warfighting Directorate (N73) at the Surface Warfare Officers School in Newport and as a detailer in the Surface Officer Career Management Division (PERS 41) at Navy Personnel Command. He reported aboard USS Stockdale as commanding officer in July 2020.

Booher has earned various service, unit, and personal awards which he credits to the fine Sailors with whom he has proudly served.
